An epic musical journey that opens with an exotic taste of India (sitar, violin and drone) before establishing the lyrical theme of the journey to forgiveness. Rich lyrical images reminiscent of Hemingway and Kipling are vocally painted upon a canvas of strings, high octave guitar, droning bass lines, and exotic hand percussion. Midway through the song unexpectedly changes gear into a brisk section that recalls the feel of Michael McDonald and the Doobie Brothers while adding a driving bouzouki to the rich harmonics of the high octave guitar, lyrical strings and layered background vocals. Returning to the entwined themes of forgiveness and the flow of life, the song concludes with a powerful chorus that then exits briskly to an exotic martial beat.

Lyrics

Precipice Forgiveness (Flow is On) - (Nashville Sessions)
Words and Music by Laurie Raveis

Arrive on invisible strings
Strung beautifully to entirely everything

Dangling my toes on the precipice
Forgiveness
Hurt I hold, can I let go
Forgiveness

Swaying my legs
Shadows drop like rain
Last Kiss
Horizon’s changed
Precipice serenade
Leap
My decision’s made

Quick stab drumstick on a snare
Crash cracks stone angel midair
Ripples miles across
Sink holes my loss

---Ripples miles across the sea

Old man lost at sea
Chained to his albatross
Of broken history
Sink holes his heart
No new land, No mystery
Old man, old man, old man
Old man lost at sea

Monarch butterflies beachside at Pismo
Journey to the oyamel fir tree in Mexico
Go with the flow

Emerge from the sand turtle hatchlings band
Hitch a Gulf Stream ocean ride
Great blue tide

African wildebeest, zebra, gazelle
Brave the Mara River current and swells
Serengeti liaison, Flow is on

Biz, buzz, flying stunts, circling loop de loops
Honeybee tips its wings on our seeds and fruits
Flow is on

Swaying my legs
Shadows drop like rain
Last Kiss
Horizon’s changed
Precipice serenade
Leap (Forgive)
My decision’s made

Flow is on, it’s always on
